Excellent meal! Very good service, drinks and seating. Definitely recommend and will dine here again.

My parents really enjoyed this place the first time they went so we wanted to try as a family! We were seated on the patio with our dog on a summer weeknight, which I highly recommend! The tables are a bit slanted because of the patio layout which was a bit inconvenient but it was a fun evening overall! I believe Andrea served us, and she was incredible! I absolutely loved the complimentary chips and salsa. All 3 salsas were flavorful with a good amount of spice. We also got mild guacamole and a chopped salad which were wonderfully fresh, tangy, and flavorful. We got classic chicken fajitas, for the main course and two orders were more than enough for the 3 of us as we had leftovers. You get sizzling meat, delicious rice and beans, sour cream, guac. The fajita meat had an authentic flavor similar to what I've had in Mexico. However the meat was a bit dry so I'll order something with more sauce next time. Would return!

This was our first time trying Mago's . We decided not to wait for a table and ate at the bar where we were very well attended by Edwin. He took his time explaining many details to us about the food and drinks he was very knowledgeable. We were also privileged to witness Ms. Bridgette working , this was a sight, this bartender did not pause or break her rhythm for over 45 minutes and once she did she came over to chat and check on us. I can't forget mention the guacamole my wife wanted it made with a little zest and her wishes were granted. Finally I have to say the food was a few levels above the typical Mexican food. Now the tequila selection was overwhelming and the staff was very patient and informative when we just could not decide on 2 shots. We will be back soon!!!

Ahhhh, Mago. I've been coming to this Mexican restaurant for years! Mago has been a downtown Arlington Heights staple for quite some time (it's been around ever since I was a kid). I've come here maybe around 10 times in my lifetime and each time was a good experience. The food here is pretty good, the drinks are superb, the restaurant is spacious, and the service is nice. What I love about Mago is their complimentary chips and salsa - they by far have the best chips & salsa around because it includes a trio of different salsas to choose from. I don't know the exact names of them but I love all the salsas so much! Their drinks for me are what does it; their cocktail menu is extensive and I adore their margaritas and frozen drinks. They are not for the weak! The food here to me is pretty mediocre. Sometimes I like it a lot and other times it's just okay. I don't recommend their salads as they're nothing too special or significant. The portions here could be a tad bigger, too, for the price. I also think beans & rice should be included in the taco dinners but they're $5 more. They do have very good apps - I especially like their guacamole and rollitos de pollo. Their fajitas are okay. It's a big and spacious restaurant that's split into two large rooms basically. It's connected to the Metropolis so foot traffic can get kind of busy if there's a play or if Arlington Ale House is open upstairs. I'd recommend coming here for drinks and apps with friends!
